WAC includes two 50-meter pools and a 25-yard instruction pool. The City of Irvine sponsors a variety of educational, recreational, and competitive programs. Some local nonprofits also contribute. Amenities include locker rooms, family changing rooms, viewing bleachers, drinking fountains, and a concession stand.
During the hours shown above, the pools are open for lap swimming. Per visit fees are $4 for adults, $2 for seniors 55+, and $2 for youth aged 17 and under. A pool membership offers discounts based on 10 visits, 30 visits, monthly use, and yearly use.
The Novaquatics Swim Team provides training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and abilities. By joining the NovaIntro Program, you’ll improve swimming technique with twice-weekly sessions and team competitions. NORTHWOOD HIGH SCHOOL AQUATICS CENTER (NHS)

Affiliated with WAC, this facility houses a 50-meter pool. Per visit lap swims are $4 for adults, $2 for seniors age 55+, and $2 for youth age 17 and under.
The Nova Masters Swim Team gives practice sessions here, teaching body mechanics and technique. Classes are both fun and challenging, available with a Nova Masters membership.
To be eligible, participants must be at least 18 years old and able to swim one pool length in 7-foot water. For insurance purposes, members must also join the US Masters Swim Club at a cost of $70 per year. Various Nova Masters memberships are available, such as monthly, quarterly, and annually. Discounts are given to residents, seniors, military, police, firefighters, and students.
As a member, you can access 30 sessions per week, held at three pool locations. You’ll swim in lanes with other people having the same ability. Classes emphasize conditioning and technique according to a specific theme. The team environment is very supportive, with members cheering your progress.
WATERWORKS AQUATICS (WA)

WA is ideal for both lessons and recreational swimming. For the past eight years, the school has won awards for the best swimming classes in Orange County, conferred by Parenting OC Magazine. Classes are provided for age 3 months through adult age.
The aquatic complex includes both indoor and outdoor pools. State-of-the-art filtration systems ensure clean conditions. Three indoor pools host swimming lessons, community activities, and wellness programs. The Junior Olympic outdoor pool has six lanes.
The outdoor pool stays at 86°F during summer, and the indoor pool is set at 89°F during winter. Pool swimming doesn’t get more idyllic than this.
