The grounds were formerly strawberry fields, and part of the property is still being farmed. There’s also a clubhouse and restaurant on site. Green fees range from $80 to $175. Membership is available for an annual fee of $395
Oak Creek Golf Club
Melodic birdsong and fresh breezes greet you on this 71-par public course. Designed by award-winning architect Tom Fazio, fairways are fringed with lush forest, blue-hued mountains, and pristine lakes. Once an orange grove, the course preserves elements of its natural habitat, protecting majestic owls, egrets, and herons. Lacy eucalyptus trees lend a sense of peace. There’s also a pro shop and café on sit. Fees range from $135 to $180, with discounts for twilight play and seniors, and annual membership is $319
Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course
Renowned as Irvine’s first public golf course, Rancho San Joaquin offers the lowest green fees. The 18-hole, 72-par course hugs a coastal inlet and embraces three serene lakes. Stately palms frame the gently contoured fairways. Challenge level is suited to both experienced and new golfers. Exemplifying excellence, the club is classified as a PGA facility, with a newly remodeled clubhouse and immaculate greens. Four PGA Certified Professionals are on staff. This golf course also hosts several golf associations, a practice facility, pro shop, and café. Green fees range from $37 to $52 with discounts for seniors and back-9 games.
Shady Canyon Golf Club
This is a private course for residents of Shady Canyon. Developed just 14 years ago, the facility also sports a spa and fitness center. Like Oak Creek Golf Club, the 18-hole, 71-par championship course was designed by architect Tom Fazio. The golf club is a subdivision of the country club, which also sponsors family programs and special events year-round. Two types of membership are available to Shady Canyon residents. The golf membership provides access to the driving range, putting green, and short-game area. The social membership includes access to the spa, pool, and fitness center, equipped with a steam room and Jacuzzi, as well as poolside cabanas and a snack bar yield breathtaking golf course views. Additionally, there is a cocktail lounge, clubhouse, and boardroom.
