Complete Guide to Irvine Farmers’ Markets

By , 9:00 am on

Strolling through the farmers’ market stalls, picking out fresh fruits and veggies for the week to come, is a favorite Sunday morning activity for many. But Irvine residents are lucky because we have access to some of the best farmers’ markets around almost every day of the week.

Tuesday: Irvine Regional Park

This farmers’ market at the Irvine Regional Park is small but comprehensive. You can find a wide selection of organic produce, specialty food items like infused olive oils, fresh-baked breads, and other seasonal delights. For the perfect weekday lunch, gather your farmers’ market goodies and have a freshly picked and packed picnic lunch at the tables at the park. The market runs from 9am until 1pm every Tuesday.

Wednesday: Kaiser Permanente

Part of a collection of farmers’ markets put on by Kaiser Permanente to promote healthy eating, this farmers’ market has plenty of fresh and organic finds. It’s one of the smaller farmers’ markets in Irvine and perfect if the Sunday morning crowds aren’t your thing. The market is on every Wednesday from 9am until 1pm and is held in the courtyard of the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center on Sand Canyon in Quail Hill.

Saturday: Mariner’s Church

The Mariner’s Church farmers’ market has been running for over 20 years, but is relatively new to this particular location, housed in a bigger space than their previous UCI site. You’ll find plenty of fresh produce, as well as artisanal avocado oils, terrariums, specialty cheeses, and seasonal treats. The market is certified by the Orange County Farm Bureau and runs from 8am to 12 pm every Saturday in the church parking lot.

Sunday: Orange County Great Park

One of Irvine’s best and biggest farmers’ markets is held at the Orange County Great Park every Sunday from 10am until 2pm. You know the produce is fresh here because a number of the fruits and vegetables are grown on the grounds of the park itself. In addition to the usual farmers’ market suspects, you can also peruse some gourmet food stands and goods from local artists and crafters. We can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday.
