Am I an Annoying Neighbor? in Irvine, CA

5 Signs You’re the Annoying Neighbor

Almost everyone has at least one terrible neighbor they like to complain about, but most people don’t take the time to consider whether they’re actually the neighbor who bothers everyone.

1. You make plenty of noise.

If you play loud music or keep your TV volume turned all the way up late at night, your neighbors might not be thrilled. You should also pay attention to how much noise your dogs or kids make.

2. Your yard is cluttered.

If you have a yard, your neighbors have to look at it every day, so try to take care of it. If possible, don’t leave out boxes, unused patio furniture, dead trees, or other yard clutter. Also, take down your Christmas and Halloween decorations shortly after the holidays.

3. You park in front of your neighbors’ homes.

Parking can be a tricky situation, especially if you have more cars than fit in your garage or driveway. However, if you always park directly in front of a neighbor’s house without permission, they may become irritated. It’s generally an unspoken neighborhood rule that the street parking right in front of a house belongs to the homeowners.

4. You don’t pay close attention to the property line.

If you just purchased a house for sale in Irvine, CA, and are thinking of putting up a fence or cutting down a hedge near the property line without discussing it with your neighbor, you won’t be invited to any neighborhood BBQs anytime soon. Always work with your neighbors to determine exactly where the property line is before making any changes in that area.

5. You block the view.

Everyone likes having a nice view of the city skyline, a lake, or any other picturesque sight. Your neighbors will probably be annoyed if you plant trees or add other fixtures to your yard or house that block the view.
