If you’ve recently purchased a home for sale in Irvine and are interested in swimming, you’re in luck. Waterworks Aquatics offers the finest swimming lessons and programs in Irvine, CA. Summer is coming, and it’s the perfect time for you or your kids to learn how to swim or take advantage of the programs this facility offers.
The school offers five types of classes, four designed for children and one for adults.
Children receive personalized teaching, starting with the basics of keeping their faces in the water, then advancing to refining their strokes.
In addition to receiving personal instruction, a child is paired with another student of the same age and ability. Parents can opt to schedule lessons with their child’s friend.
Parent and Me Lessons
This class is for children ages 3 months to 3 years. The instructor assists each parent in teaching their child to swim, using songs and other fun activities. In the Beginner Class, parents help their kids with submersion, back-floating, and how to move in the water. The Intermediate Class adds breath control and rolling onto the back. In the Advanced Class, kids learn how to swim independently.
Held in a children’s group setting, classes teach advanced swimming techniques. Emphasizing form versus speed, kids are prepared to swim competitively. They also receive conditioning exercises to build strength and stamina.
Intermediate Classes are for ages 5 and older, while Advanced Classes are geared to age 9 and above. Both clinics have a 12:1 ratio of students to instructor. Kids with excellent skills are placed in swim teams.
These are private classes, customized to each individual’s ability, whether a person is new to swimming or highly experienced. If you have a fear of water, you’ll conquer it with the help of an expert instructor.
In addition to lessons, Waterworks Aquatics offers exciting programs for both children and adults.
Family Swim Night
Annually, seven Saturdays are reserved for families. Sessions take place in the heated indoor pools. Music sings over the sound system. Kids can play with the facility’s inflatable toys and join organized games. Life jackets are available to loan upon request. You can either bring food or buy snacks and beverages onsite.
Youth Swim Team
On this team for ages 5 and older, kids improve technique, strength, endurance, and speed. Both the 25-yard indoor and outdoor pools are used, depending on the time of year.
Open to kids aged 2 and older, meets are held monthly throughout the year. Each participant receives a ribbon just for joining. Any child who earns 15 or more ribbons gets a trophy.
Dives and Turns Clinic
For ages 5 and older, this 40-minute group class focuses on racing starts, flip turns, and open turns in four competitive strokes.
Youth Summer Camps
Designed for intermediate and advanced students, these half-day camps are week-long summer sessions. The goal of attending is to improve technique and increase speed.
Highly recommended for people with arthritis and multiple sclerosis, these year-round classes are endorsed by the Arthritis Foundation. Sessions are open to all ages, with the benefits of improving circulation, strength, flexibility, and endurance. Both low and high-intensity styles are offered.
Two physical therapy practices provide aqua therapy sessions at the facility.
