Whether you’ve lived here for years or just purchased a home for sale in Irvine, you likely already know this city is home to some amazing dining options. Nonetheless, we still get excited when new restaurants pop up. These five new openings will have your mouth watering in the coming months.
1. EMC Seafood & Raw Bar
Scheduled to open in September, EMC Seafood & Raw Bar has already gained a loyal following of seafood lovers in Koreatown, Los Angeles, and we can’t wait for EMC Seafood & Raw Bar to join us here in Orange County. EMC has an impressive selection of local and imported oysters in its raw bar, and the dinner menu specializes in expertly prepared shellfish like ponzu soft shell crab and crispy garlic clams.
2. Angelina’s Pizzeria Napoletana
With our Mediterranean climate, it’s only fitting that this Naples-style pizzeria is migrating north from Dana Point to call Irvine its newest home. The selection of perfectly crispy thin crust pizza goes beyond the basics, with inventive offerings like a pear and Gorgonzola pizza and a Brie and baked ham pie with olives and arugula. And in case you were wondering, their wine list is just as expansive. We know this slightly upscale pizzeria will be setting up shop in the Los Olivos Marketplace, though no opening date has been announced quite yet.
Habana isn’t new, per se, but we’re definitely celebrating its late-fall arrival at the Irvine Spectrum Center after a 20-year residency at the LAB anti-mall in Costa Mesa. The second location of this Cuban favorite will feature the same signature and specialty cocktails that its regulars know and love, as well as menu classics like homemade empanadas and churrasco style skirt steak.
What originally started as a food truck, Slapfish has seen expansion that most mobile dining offerings can only dream of, and we can’t help but dream of feasting on their buttery, fresh lobster rolls ASAP. This casual seafood eatery is scheduled to open in Irvine in mid-July at the UCI University Center shopping center in the University Town Center neighborhood and will be the chain’s sixth Southern California outpost.
Though it’s already been open a few weeks, we had to include CREAM (which stands for Cookies Rule Everything Around Me) on our list–it’s that good. If you have a sweet tooth, then you need to head to this new ice cream sandwich shop at the Irvine Spectrum Center. CREAM’s sweet sandwiches are totally customizable, so feel free to mix green tea ice cream with sugar cookies or overdose on chocolate with double chocolate chip cookies with chocoholic ice cream in the middle, we won’t judge.
